Collection: Vietnamese Oolong
While little known to the West, Vietnam hosts some of the oldest tea trees in the world, and has a terroir entirely unique from China and Taiwan. For over three thousand years, the local tribes have extensive histories utilizing tea as part of their cultures.Today, it is an integral part of Vietnamese culture.
The Mộc Châu Plateau is located within the mountainous Northwest region of Vietnam, near Laos. Beautifully tropical, sitting at an altitude of 1200 meters; land lush and fertile, hot days and cold nights, with steep valleys and rolling tea fields adjacent to untamed jungle wilderness, create an ideal tea growing environment. For this reason, several privately owned Taiwanese companies are investing in the area. Much of the tea produced by these companies are shipped back to Taiwan, falsely labeled as Taiwanese, and sold as premium high-mountain tea in the local markets. We source our tea directly from a Vietnamese owned farm, which allows us to offer this premium tea for an exceptionally affordable price. Powerful brews, similar in strength to puerh, with vibrantly tropical, fruity notes.
