This Lapsang Souchang was grown in the same village where it was invented hundreds of years ago, Tong Mu Guan, located within the nationally protected Wuyishan Ecological Preserve. Processed the traditional way, this tea was smoked using native horsetail pine, imparting a phenomenally deep complexity with a rich, velvety texture. The aroma from this tea permeates and lingers; candied jujube, dried longan, medicinal herbs, enveloped in a soft smokiness. The profile is further matured by the age, offering a smooth and thick body.
