Collection: Fenghuang Dancong

Fenghuang Dancong is a rare type of oolong, whose name means "Phoenix Mountain Single Bush". This tea is only grown on Phoenix Mountain, in Guangdong province, where it has been prominent since the 1600s. Guangdong, along with Wuyi, is thought to be where the art of gongfu tea preparation originated. Rather than growing small bushes, the tea typically grows into large trees. Harvesting is commonly done by constructing bamboo scaffolding, to climb on, around the tree.

Dancong is known for its ability to naturally mimic the aromas of other plants and flowers. The terroir and range of flavors is fantastically diverse, diverging from almonds and peach pits, to narcissus and orange blossoms, yuzu peels, and lemongrass.
