Hailing from Taiwan, Yangqing Hao is a boutique producer of traditional pu'er, known for his stringent standards of quality control, overseeing each production personally. Each cake is individually pressed using antique stone molds from the Hao Ji era (pre-WWII). Driven purely by quality, less emphasis is placed on famous locales or regions. This allows Mr. Yang to source leaves from pristine forests, often overlooked by mass market producers.
The 2005 Cangliu is a blend of six tea mountains: Gedong, Mangzhi, Manzhuan, Youle, Yibang, and Yiwu. Five of these are in Mengla county, while all six are in within the greater Yiwu area. Made using a blend of Spring and Autumn harvests. 30% Yiwu, 100% gushu. This is one of Yangqing Hao's most popular cakes.
